SYDNEY, Aust. – 6th December 2010 - Telarus, the leading provider of managed networks, security, and cloud services to the SMB sector in Australia, has launched a new era of growth for business computing in Australia with new business strategy underway to grow the company’s share of the fast growing cloud computing market.
The strategy followed an intensive review of current and emerging customer needs to maximise emerging opportunities in the managed network services sector where Telarus folds a leadership role.
Telarus’ plans have been underpinned by its recent solution sales generating more than $3 million in new revenue over the next three years. Recent customer acquisitions included: Coldflow, Matthews Australasia, McArthur Management, Redcat and upgrades to FM Innovations.
To further drive the company’s growth plans, industry veteran and company founder Graeme Smith has been appointed CEO. He will focus customer engagement, a new partner program, a full network review and capacity upgrade as well as a refined and targeted product set.
Dennis Muscat, formerly SVP South Asia Pacnet and co-founder & managing director of Pacific Internet Australia, has accepted a full timeexecutive board role with Telarus. Muscat will be responsible for strategic counsel and change management with a key focus on the customer engagement model and expanding the channels to market.
Highly acclaimed industry specialist Andy King, has been appointed CTO and will provide specialist counsel to Telarus enterprise customers as well as overseeing the project of re-engineering the Telarus network to ensure that it scales to support the three main product pillars being managed networks, managed security and cloud services
Graeme Smith said Telarus was now poised to take advantage of the growth opportunities available in Australia over the next 12 months.
“Providing private cloud services is the area where Telarus will be taking an aggressive position as existing and potential clients look to maximise the returns from their technology investments particularly in online backup, disaster recovery and virtualisation.”
“Our strength is in managing networks for SMB and mid-enterprise customers. This includes multi-site IP VPNs, managed security systems and hosted services, and we are at the forefront of delivering Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) with a range of private cloud services. We have seen this market is currently the domain of multinational corporations with significant organisational structures; Telarus differentiates itself in this market by our nimbleness and ability to engage with the SMB market.”
Smith said the strategy to maximise Telarus growth had been warmly welcomed by clients and industry partners.
