On behalf of us all at Telarus our best wishes for the festive season. Thanks for all your ongoing support throughout 2011 and, for many of you, for the last 10 years.
This year amongst other accomplishments we were proud to release two new cloud services: Telarus Managed Security (TMS) and Network Monitoring System (NMS). We have big plans for next year, and will be announcing these in January.
Here is our full year in review:
January 2011
The year got off to a flying start with the signing of new Telstra Wholesale contracts which culminated in the release of a new range of network access products, enabling a greater mix of high speed services available to outer metropolitan areas and regional Australia.
We also launched the long awaited refresh of the Telarus website – www.telarus.com.au – that now reflects our business direction and commitment to customer service with greater detail on our product and service offerings encompassing Managed Networks, Managed Security and Cloud Services.
February 2011
The launch of the new Telarus Channel Partner Program occurred, providing a strong focus on training and collaboration with our authorised partners.
We also conducted client and partner surveys, with responses providing invaluable market feedback. Special thanks to all of you who took the time to complete the survey, your input was extremely valuable and greatly appreciated.
March 2011
Telarus embarked upon the adoption of an ITIL V.3 (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) service management framework. This constitutes a significant step forward in providing a consistent, high value customer experience. The first step in this journey has been the deployment of an organisation-wide suite of feature-rich software tools for end-to-end service management.
April 2011
In April we launched TMS (Telarus Managed Security), a multi-layered threat management solution which protects private networks. It is a subscription based service that resides at the gateway between a customers’ private network and the public Internet. It comprises:
A Managed Firewall, AntiSPAM, Antivirus, Web Content Filtering, Worm and Phishing protection, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Automatic Updates and near Real Time Reporting.
These services reduce costs by eliminating CAPEX and support overheads. They improve control over the use of corporate resources and assist in the prevention of attacks earlier than internally hosted solutions.
May 2011
Telarus signed contracts for two new Data Centre Facilities in Melbourne including contracts for dark fibre services between all three of our Melbourne based core network facilities.
June 2011
We embarked upon our largest network capacity upgrade to-date, enabling us to service the growing demand for network traffic from new and existing customers. This demand is being generated as a result of the proliferation of rich digital media such as collaboration tools e.g. instant messaging, video conferencing, e-learning, etc. This upgrade of the Telarus network entails the deployment of new Juniper core network routers and a progressive migration of existing clients onto the new platform, a project that is well under way and expected to be completed by March 2012.
We entered supply contracts with IBM for the supply of IBM Blade Centre and storage technology – the hardware foundation of our new range of cloud services.
August 2011
In line with our history of innovation, in August we expanded our managed network offering to include a powerful network monitoring and reporting service – NMS (Network Monitoring System). It’s a ‘looking glass’ into the daily operation of your network including an array of performance, availability and capacity metrics. We are undertaking a dedicated probe into each Private Network under management and aim to have all clients migrated onto the system by March 2012.
September 2011
The launch of our new Brisbane PoP (Point of Presence) occurred in September. This new PoP enables a greater range of high speed services to the broader Brisbane region and also across regional Queensland.
October 2011
Following on from Brisbane, we launched our Perth PoP driven by ever increasing demand for high speed services from new and existing Telarus Managed Network clients.
November 2011
The sales pipeline for our new Private Cloud Computing solutions reaches record levels with the first orders signed for the complete suite of new cloud services including IaaS, Online Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.
A number of our partners convened for the Telarus ‘Crackerjack Challenge” in the grounds of Parliament House for an afternoon of lawn bowls competition, lots of laughter and good conversation. See photos
