TELARUS PARTNERS WITH NZ FIBRE OPTIC CARRIERS

Telarus Joins Forces with leading fibre carriers CityLink and Vector to strengthen its New Zealand presence

Auckland – 1 March, 2010 – Telarus, the leading infrastructure-based service provider in Australia and New Zealand, has signed agreements with CityLink Limited and Vector Limited, two established fibre optic carriers in New Zealand.

Vector and CityLink are providers of ultra high-speed fibre connectivity throughout Auckland and Wellington CBD. Partnering with CityLink and Vector will increase Telarus’ ability to offer the ‘best available’ service for its customers in New Zealand. It will also enhance Telarus’ ability to offer fault tolerant solutions for customers in New Zealand that require very high availability.

Having purchased a significant amount of fibre capacity between Australia and New Zealand and deployed local infrastructure in New Zealand, Telarus now has its own Trans-Tasman MPLS network with national coverage in Australia and New Zealand.

One of only a handful of service providers able to provide a seamless Trans-Tasman VPN solution, Telarus offers dedicated capacity between Australia and New Zealand up to five times cheaper than other leading service providers. This allows Telarus customers to migrate from Internet-based VPNs to a solution that offers dedicated capacity that is well suited to demanding applications such as VoIP and video. The company is also offering white label broadband services through resellers MHA and Unleash.

Recent customer demands and requirements have fuelled Telarus’ expansion into New Zealand. Telarus initially signed a wholesale services agreement with Telecom Wholesale to offer national coverage with fixed line voice, ADSL, SHDSL and Ethernet services, and is actively working on additional services that it plans to release via its relationship with Telecom.

“At Telarus we are committed to delivering consistently high quality services with excellent reliability, and our work in New Zealand is no exception to this rule. In order to ensure we are able to provide our New Zealand customers with the best possible network solution, we are striking partner relationships with the leading carriers in each product category and locale. Our customers don’t need to second guess their decision – they get best-of-breed,” said Jules Rumsey, Telarus CEO.

He further added, “A number of our customers are located in the Auckland and Wellington CBD areas and are looking specifically for fibre capacity. In some cases they also require carrier fault tolerant solutions for maximum uptime.”

“Partnering with leading carriers like Vector and CityLink is a sign of our commitment to ensuring that we are fully equipped to meet the needs of New Zealand businesses,” he said.

Telarus is currently in discussions with other competitive carriers in New Zealand as it continues to enhance its ability to offer best-of-breed solutions to its customers.
