Telarus will soon be able to offer co-location services to customers requiring data centre space in Sydney under a similar arrangement to what has been offered in Melbourne for some time. This will allow customers to house equipment (servers, routers, firewalls etc) within the Telarus data centre in Sydney, enabling them high speed Ethernet access into the Telarus core.

Incorporating co-location into a network design offers a number of benefits; Better environment for servers and network equipment due to environment controls, filtered power with battery and generator backup, plus high security, 24x7 unescorted access for clients taking one third of a rack or more (likely to be half of a rack in Sydney), high speed access to the network at a relatively low cost (i.e. no need for really big last mile tails) and greater fault tolerance as the customer's equipment is directly connected to the Telarus core network.

All Telarus' facilities are highly secure. There is a strict induction process for anyone authorized to enter the Data Centre. This includes identification and registration of biometric identity (handprint).

Coming soon -> Wireless Design and Security Service

The increasing popularity of wireless networking brings its own set of design issues. Some customers have raised concerns about the security and configuration of their wireless networks, so we have developed a service to assess, design and, if required, deploy a secure and stable wireless network for enterprises and Greenfield sites

For customers already deploying a wireless network, the service is an essential security check. If it's something you are going to look into in the New Year we can advise on exactly what you need and how to make it secure.

The Telarus team will come out to your site and find out in detail how your company works, what you need from your network and which applications you depend on. An initial audit will give an outline of our recommendations. If you want to take it further we can prepare a detailed design plan and even install it for you.

We are currently working through the final stages of the development of this service and will announce the final package early in the New Year.
