Paul Cachia
What is your role at Telarus?
I am the Senior Account Executive for the Direct Sales team.
What are your key responsibilities?
My key responsibility is to ensure absolute customer satisfaction at all times. I find this responsibility much easier to achieve at Telarus than in my previous roles within the industry. Telarus has a key focus company wide on customer satisfaction; our senior management team have all worked within the industry for many years and understand the frustrations customers face when dealing with our competitors.
How long have you been in the IT industry?
I have been working within the IT & T sector for some 13 years, I entered the industry when the telecommunications market de-regulated.
What areas/technologies do you specialise in?
I try not to call myself a specialist of any product. In order to provide the best possible service that the industry can offer, I try keep abreast of as many technologies as possible. It is not expected in my role to understand the nuts and bolts of how everything works, I rely heavily on my technical resources such as my Solutions Engineer to look after the technical nitty gritty, which allows me to me to have a broader knowledge set.
What have been the highlights of your career?
I was awarded top Sales Professional for four quarters running in 2000 whilst at Cable & Wireless Optus.
What challenges have you faced in your career? (how did you overcome them?)
The challenge I constantly face in my career is remaining at the absolute forefront of technology. My customers consider me a trusted source of information and rely heavily on my knowledge to recommend the appropriate technological path forward. Our fast paced, ever changing IT landscape, can make this task a difficult one. I find myself constantly researching new technologies and trialling them first hand.
Which technology is going to have the biggest impact on the industry in the next 5 years?
I believe that Voice-over-IP will most certainly have the largest impact on the industry within the next 5 years, the industry has already braced itself for the biggest change in years.
